Job Description – Lawyer, Insolvency 

 

Our client has an immediate opening for a talented Insolvency Lawyer to join its successful multi-disciplinary team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will assist various financial institutions, including Canadian and foreign banks, wholesale financiers, insurance companies, bankruptcy trustees, receivers, liquidators, pension fund trustees, creditors, and landlords, with complex insolvency matters in Canada. 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities 

 

  • Assist institutional clients with a variety of insolvency and restructuring proceedings, including a broad range of insolvency and restructuring matters, including national and international financial reorganizations. 
  • Expand and support business/client development opportunities. 
  • Provide mentorship and support to the office’s growing restructuring and insolvency group. 

 

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge 

  • LL.B. or J.D. degree (or equivalent). 
  • Good standing with a Canadian Law Society. 
  • 2+ years of insolvency/restructuring experience. 
  • Outstanding practice management skills, effective commercial acumen, and strong client service orientation.
